Flowdrill

WHAT IS FLOW SHAPING AND THREAD SHAPING?

■ material will be re-shaped to a bushing
■ bushing can become 3 to 4 times thicker than original material thickness
■ higher quantity of thread turns
■ the threads will be shaped much more precisely
■ the threads are considerably more loadable and are compliant to DIN
■ no material loss through the re-shaping

A re-shaped M6 thread in a 2mm thick pipe leads to 6 thread turns in average which is compliant to DIN.

Conventional technique

■ low quantity of thread turns
■ not compliant to DIN
■ high material loss through cutting into the material
